WHERE IT ALL BEGAN
Our first meeting was held in October 1999. On May 4, 2000, we officially became a chapter of Women in Aviation International, establishing a local community dedicated to supporting and connecting women across the aviation industry.

1999
Our First Meeting
The Washington State Chapter held its first meeting in October 1999.
2000
Official Chapter Status
On May 4, 2000, we officially became a chapter of Women in Aviation International.
2005
Our First Scholarship
We awarded our first scholarship at the WAI Annual Conference in 2005 for $500.
2010
Janet Clark Memorial
Our scholarship was renamed in honor of chapter member Janet Clark and has since grown to $1,500.
2014
Yukiko Howell Memorial STEM Scholarship
We added a second scholarship in memory of Yukiko Howell, valued at $1,500.
Turning community into opportunity.
OUR SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
Our fundraising efforts have grown from a first $500 scholarship into two $1,500 memorial scholarships.
